Job Summary

Fast-growing real estate private equity firm seeking an experienced Property Accountant.

Elevation Property Management’s Property Accountant will serve with discipline and lead with kindness. Our Property Accountant will fill a key role within the accounting team and will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. The successful candidate will need to be effective and experienced in the general accounting function. The position requires solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical skills. Attention to detail is required while striving to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. The candidate will fit well in an environment that rewards bright, self-starting, energetic, focused individuals with ever increasing responsibility and challenge. The ideal teammate will need to possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, work ethic, attention to detail, and work well both in a team environment and autonomously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record monthly revenues, expenses and activities for assigned portfolio of properties
  • Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and assist property managers with monthly close out processes while overseeing payables and resident ledgers for accuracy
  • Monitors properties’ cash needs, prepares cash disbursements and performs transfers & bank recs
  • Monitors performance of property managers for assigned portfolio and communicates to accounting manager and regional managers about performance.
  • Analyze and interpret operating results and financial performance trends impacting the effectiveness of the operations
  • Assist with acquisitions & dispositions process
  • Contract negotiations, new vendor account setup, and due diligence
  • Assist with year-end tax/audit processes
  • Communication with auditors
  • Assist with renovation construction accounting
  • Analysis and reporting of cost variances
  • Provide interim, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement analysis
  • Assist property management team with the budgets
  • Performs special projects and research as assigned

Education and Qualifications:


  • Minimum of seven (7) years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeper experience
  • Knowledge in Onesite or Yardi
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Experience with real estate/property management industry


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
